Gratitude Journal Day 49

Today I am grateful for…

  1. having some “me” time this morning. With a crazy busy week, I needed some time to myself.
  2. avoiding the FOUR car accidents I almost got into today. There were some crazy drivers on the road.
  3. the people in CPTV who are willing to step up and help out.
  4. my first time coming in for my internship during the day. I got to meet more people who work at the KSBY station.
  5. my friend, Madison, interning at the same time as me. This is her second quarter, so she showed me the ropes. And it was nice to know someone my first time coming in during the day.
  6. the employees at KSBY who were so nice and welcoming to me.
  7. watching Dave Hovde do his live shot. Talk about a live shot master!
  8. starting to learn to use Velocity editing software. Woo!
  9. my mom. She always lends words of encouragement when I’m stressed out.
  10. my grandma. She’s cleaning out her closet and finding plenty of vintage clothing to send me.
  11. getting through today. It wasn’t an easy one.

Gratitude Journal Day 48

Today I am grateful for…

  1. a “Monday schedule” at school today. My Mondays are generally easier than my Tuesdays, so one less Tuesday is a blessing.
  2. not getting a ticket when I parked in staff parking on campus. Phew!
  3. having lots of story ideas for this week’s CPTV show!
  4. my friend Ed buying me a sandwich from Kona’s. So yummy!
  5. another great night of my internship at KSBY!

Gratitude Journal Days 46 & 47

I have to lump the past two days together because last night was the second night of my internship at KSBY. I worked overnight, so my days are kind of blurred.

Over the last two days, I have been grateful for (and there’s a lot)…

  1. working with the Mustang Daily newspaper staff. It’s not often that we get to work together, but I’d like to do it more often.
  2. getting new ideas about where I want to live next year. It’s already time to start thinking about it… yikes!
  3. discovering it’s Hunt for Happiness Week… and having the platform to promote it.
  4. a spontaneous drive to the beach. I’m so grateful I live just 15 minutes away from the ocean.
  5. my best friend, for taking the spontaneous ocean trip with me.
  6. eating clam chowder in a bread bowl just feet away from the water. There’s no experience like it.
  7. unexpectedly finding an inexpensive, cute, new blow dryer when I wasn’t even looking. Mine just broke and I needed a new one!
  8. getting to write many of the scripts in today’s Daybreak show on KSBY.
  9. Connie Tran. She let me go out in the field and interview with her and it was a blast.
  10. watching the Presidential Inauguration from the KSBY newsroom.
  11. having the courage to be honest and direct…even when it’s not so easy.
  12. the opportunity to meet Apple’s Steve Wozniak tonight and get an exclusive interview with him for Cal Poly TV. It was probably the coolest journalism experience I’ve had yet!

Gratitude Journal Day 45

Today I am grateful for…

  1. getting the cleaning bug! I cleaned my house all day and finally got to cross it off my to-do list.
  2. seeing William Shatner in Shatner’s World at the PAC. Although it was completely random and kind of weird, its was entertaining and adventurous.
  3. William Shatner’s advice about love and life. Captain Kirk is pretty deep haha.
  4. my friends. They let me vent and bitch and still love me. And I love them.
  5. trying Chile Peppers for the first time. $1.50 for a churro that was at least 18 inches long and freshly made.
  6. the comfort of my couch. Somehow, my bed just doesn’t cut it sometimes.

Although I’m not a Star Trek fan, I can’t deny that William Shatner was a hunk in his hay day… Hello, Captain Kirk!
